Rosemary herb is not only used in the culinary world, the plant of good luck, good star, good fortune. In the Middle Ages it was used in Marry ceremonies. Rosemary was also used as a divination herb. Various herbs were grown in pots and named after a potential lover. They were left to grow and the plant that grew the strongest and the fastest gave the answer. Rosemary was stuffed into poppets (cloth dolls) to attract a lover or to attract healing vibrations for illness. It was believed that placing a sprig of rosemary under a pillow before sleep would ward off nightmares, and placing it outside the home would repel witches. Somehow, the use of Rosemary in the garden to repel Witches became significant that the woman ruled the household in houses and gardens where Rosemary grew abundantly.
